Armand is a graduate of Bowie State where he received his Bachelors of Science in Communications with a focus in Broadcast Journalism. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Science in Management at the University of Maryland. Only a college freshman at the time, Armand was selected for an internship at the Department of Defense Inspector General’s Diversity Affairs & Equal Opportunity Office, a position that is mainly earned by college seniors. During his time at the Office of Inspector General, Mr. Hodge assisted the Inspector General and other directors to increase outreach efforts to minority groups. Entering his sophomore year, Armand took on an internship at WUSA9, A CBS News Affiliate in Washington, DC. It was here that Armand interned and embraced the guidance of Emmy Award Winning News Anchor J.C. Hayward which many in the broadcast world regarded as an honor. Knowing that he wanted to tackle all areas of Communications, Armand was selected for an internship with the T. Howard Foundation where he was placed in the Government Affairs Office at Comcast Corporation in Washington, D.C. Armand worked under the guidance of many EVP’s, Directors, & Managers and even contributing to the beginning stages of Comcast’s "Internet Essentials Program".
Motivated by his experience at Comcast Corporation, Armand accepted that the world of communications & media would become his second home. Armand continued his commitment to the media industry in the Washington, D.C. area and even at his Alma Matter Bowie State University. During his time at Bowie State University, he was dedicated to assisting his peers pursue career opportunities and helping them stay engaged in the media industry. While at Bowie State, Armand served in a number of positions including Managing Editor of the University Newspaper “The Spectrum”, Assistant Program Director of the University Radio Station WBSU 90.5FM, and university ambassadors for the T. Howard Foundation & the National Urban League’s BEEP Program. Armand has had the privilege to travel to Philadelphia, Orlando, New Orleans, Charlotte to speak on millennial panels including New York City where he served as a Master of Ceremonies for The 11th Annual Thurgood Marshall College Fund Leadership Institute.
Armand has held a number of roles at SiriusXM Holdings, GMMB Media Consulting, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. His first tenure with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation was through its Communications Internship Program where he was placed in the Office of Rep. Steny Hoyer (MD-5). Armand has also been a regular guest on “Real Talk w. Valencia Campbell” and was a radio personality on The Cuban Cigar Smoker & Friends Show alongside Antonio the Cuban Cigar Smoker. Armand currently serves as the Public Relations Coordinator for the University Communications & Marketing Office at American University. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Bowie State University.
Armand continues to serve as positive role model for his community and mentoring the youth at a number of high schools in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and providing motivation and guidance to those who want to pursue the media industry. Aside from his extracurricular activities, Armand pushes for academic excellence in every project & goal that he pursues. In the future, Armand hopes to continue to bring appreciation, excellence, and extraordinary value to the industry that he has grown to love.
